System Requirements

PHPConfess is written in PHP using the CakePHP framework. It will run on either Windows or Linux hosting. All you need is PHP 4/5 and MySQL.

We recommend using Apache web server on Linux with mod_rewrite installed. This way, you will be able to take full advantage the search engine friendly URLs functionality. Also, Apache is the best web server in existence. If you disagree, you are wrong.

Recommended Web Hosts

We highly recommend HostGator, because they use cPanel, Apache, and Linux, and have mod_rewrite installed. They don't do any stupid stuff to their servers, so the configurations are all standard - this means it's very unlikely that anything will break due to non-standard server configurations.

Stay away from MediaTemple.net and Mosso.
